2400 Euro now and over 1000 every month. Its for health insurance

  2. Particular_Star6324 on

You need to pay the sum
On page 2462,26€. They just take the max possible contributions of public insurance when they don‘t know about your income. If you earned less in that time you can tell them and will get some money back but you need to get active about that.

There must have been prior communication about a period of time where you had no health insurance for some reason.

Apparently you didn´t provide them with proof of your income during that time, so they calculated the maximum amount (as if you earned 5512.50 € per moonth).

Have you reacted to their initial letter at all?

  4. „Contribution notice for your compulsory follow-up insurance pursuant to Section 188 (4) SGB V
    Dear Sir
We have already informed you that you will have a gap in your insurance coverage from March 20, 2025, to May 25, 2025. To ensure that you remain covered during this period, we will arrange follow-up insurance for you.
As long as we do not know your income situation, the statutory
contribution assessment ceiling for health and long-term care insurance (2025 = monthly
5,512.50 euros) will be used as the starting point for calculating your health and long-term care insurance contributions.
The contribution rates are 16.4% for health insurance (including the individual additional contribution of 2.4%) and 3.6% for long-term care insurance.
No contribution reduction was determined for nursing care insurance.
Accordingly, the following amounts are to be paid monthly from March 20, 2025:
for health insurance for nursing care insurance
    Total
    904.05 euros
    198.45 euros
    1,102.50 euros“

You were not insured for 2 Months and since they don’t know how much money you earn, they are billing you the maximum of 1.102,50€ per month

You should immediately make use of the following:

„You can submit an application for a reassessment of your contributions within twelve months of receiving this letter, by November 17, 2026, at the latest. The reassessment of contributions will only take place once the necessary income documents have been submitted in full to Audi BKK.
If you submit your application for a reassessment of your contributions after the above deadline, your contributions can only be adjusted from the first day of the month following the submission of your application. A retroactive correction is then no longer possible.
    You
You are also welcome to send us your application and income documents by fax (0841 887-160) or email (einkommensanfrage@audibkk.de)“

I am almost 100% certain, that you do not make enough to warrant the maximum. Get in touch with the insurance and provide them with additional information concerning the two months of missing insurance

  5. You have to pay for your compulsory social insurance. This happens for example when you are not employed but also not registered as unemployed. The amount to pay depends on your income within that time. Since they do not know about your earnings, they are working with a worst case assumption and calculated 441,00 for March, 1102,50 for April, and 918,76 for May.

Ignore the “have to pay” comments. You need to figure this out.

    What this reads:

    – They informed you that you were not insured in the space between 20.3 and 25.5. You need to be insured without pauses.

    – They don’t know what your employment status is, so they cannot correctly calculate what you need to pay and are taking this assumed value (set by law) that says you “probably earned 5,512.5 EURO” – Based on that your health insurance and care insurance are calculated.

**- To reduce / change this amount, they need info from you: Were you employed in this time frame? Were you unemployed? You need to let them know!**

    – You need to pay the sum until 15.12. BUT. You can and should submit information about your employment status during that period of time within the next 12 months until 17.11.2026 for this amount to be recalculated. Basically, unemployed people pay way less. The amount is based on how much income you have generated.

    – If you send them the request to readjust this amount to be paid, the adjustment of the to-be-paid amount can only be done from the 1st of the next month that comes after you submit the request. A backwards correction is not possible then.

(This is not legal help and I don’t guarantee any kind of right translation. This is done to my best knowledge.)

You should have prior mail about this as you did not disclose income at the time inform them tomorrow

You need to pay 2462 euro now. Then you need to give them proof of income for the time period mentionend. If you earned less then 5000 euro. You can get some money back.
You need to deal with this kind of stuff. You are lucky that it is just a short time. If you don’t tell them you income for longer periods you owe them 1200 euro per month for that period. And they will come for the money.

  9. Technical-Freedom111 on

    ~~you fucked up.~~

~~you had a deadline till 17.11 to provide them with your financial data and they would have recalculated the amount based on your current earnings, but that was 2 days ago.~~

17.11.2026. Sent them your financial data until then and they will recalculate the amount and tell you what to do next.

    Please google translate it yourself.

    Next steps:

Go to your health insurance provider and clarify this immediately. It is best to clarify in person. Take someone who speaks German and alsô brief them abou t the issue before going there.

Go with this letter and a the previous letter that they sent( it says that this was communicated already), and with your income statement from work for the months of March till June. If you weren’t working, go with your bank statement – Perhaps you wont need to show this but its better to be prepared. If you were a student, go with your university immatriculationsbescheinigung. They will look into what your income was and adjust what you need to pay. Right now they are charging you the maximum that they can. It is your responsibility to clarify this. If you don’t clarify this, this will be what youll have to pay.

Tell them you were unemployed. You’ll have to pay less than 300€.

Okay, most of these answers are incomplete or just wrong.

This is health insurance. You didn’t have insurance coverage between March 20 and May 25 this year (or at least your insurance company believes you didn’t).

This typically happens in between jobs, when there’s a gap between the last day of your old job and the first day of your new job. When you have a normal “angestellter” job (regular employment), your employer takes care of health insurance (technically you pay a share of the cost as well, but this is taken out of your gross pay, so it just happens and you might never really consciously think about it).

When you quit, your employer informs the insurance that you no longer work for them. But you’re still in the insurance and still have to pay – it’s mandatory by law to be health insured. So they (insurance) will contact you to find out what happens next: if you’re unemployed and eligible for unemployment benefits, the federal job agency will pay your insurance (basically); if you’re self-employed, you pay yourself and in full; if you’re regularly employed, see above (I.e. both your employer and you pay a share, but your employer takes care of all admin and communication).

When you don’t answer to your health insurance inquiries, they assume you’re eligible to pay the MAXIMUM AMOUNT (i.e. you have an income that’s rather high). This is standard procedure. And that’s what this letter says: we didn’t hear from you, so we assume you owe us the maximum possible amount for the period mentioned.

Good news: if you didn’t make much money or none at all, you will NOT pay the full amount.

BUT (!!) you HAVE TO communicate with them and let them know what your income situation was between march 20 and may 25: were you employed? Self-employed? Living off savings? Etc etc

They will have forms for that. If you can’t find those, call them.

The insurance company is not your enemy, most are quite helpful and cases like these are absolute standard.

So no reason to panic. But reason to go and take care of the issue. Best of luck!

Go to your health insurance and show how much you were earning by showing your last pay slip. If you had no income bring your Kontoauszug. Gets done within a day
