Recentemente ho ricevuto una strana email da Google riguardante la recensione di un ristorante a Monaco. Questo risale forse a 7-8 anni fa. L’e-mail diceva che c’era una denuncia legale per diffamazione e che la recensione sarebbe stata rimossa. Non sono tedesco e non ho mai visto niente del genere. Era una recensione nella media per un ristorante molto nella media. È una cosa comune in Germania?
Ho fatto appello e mi hanno risposto quasi subito con un linguaggio molto legale dicendo sostanzialmente di aver esaminato e concordato che si trattava di diffamazione.
L’ho trovato molto strano.

It’s not that common . . . unless you’re leaving a review for a German restaurant. Then it’s EXTREMELY common.
And it doesn’t take much to get Google to take down the review. They are 100% afraid of facing any actual legal action in a German court over it, so they just capitulate to the restaurant’s demands of removal immediately and without question.
I’m guessing that “but food was underwhelming” is the part that is “defamatory.”
In the US (and most other countries) this would in no way classify as defamatory, but in Germany; . . . it does. For some reason.
