Ciao a tutti! Io e il mio compagno abbiamo appena trascorso una meravigliosa cena della vigilia di Natale al Chama Mama a New York. Abbiamo ordinato il piatto di prelibatezze stagionali e uno dei dessert che hanno elencato come “Kumeli” che è stato assolutamente fantastico.
Cercare il nome su Google ha risultati ZERO e riporta semplicemente al menu di Chama Mama. Abbiamo chiesto alla nostra cameriera e lei ha anche detto che viene dalla Georgia e non ne aveva mai sentito parlare finché non l’hanno aggiunta al menu

I’ve never heard of “kumeli”
If you want a Christmas/new years treat it’s gozinaki for sure.
Churchkhela too but that’s also enjoyed outside new years but gozinaki is strictly new years

It says right there it is Kumeli (“ქუმელი”), apparently a Tushetian traditional food. It’s not very common in other parts of Georgia.
