Quindi guardo film e serie sui servizi online ARD e ZDF da circa un anno, ma oggi, quando provo a guardare Amiantomi è stato chiesto di verificare la mia età.

Si tratta di un nuovo requisito o semplicemente non ho mai provato a guardare contenuti con classificazione 16+ prima d’ora? Presumo che non ci sia altra soluzione se non quella di aspettare fino alle 22:00!

Vivo in un paese vicino e utilizzo le offerte online per migliorare il mio tedesco.

  1. Always has been there. ARD is legally obliged to do it this way, because the laws that govern it weren’t updated for streaming. It legally counts as watching TV

    The verification isn’t particularly secure, as far as I remember. It asks you to type out the birthday from the machine readable part of your ID/Passport, which includes a check digit. It doesn’t actively connect to any database, it’s probably all client-side.

    I think that if you know how to calculate the check digit, you can fake birthdays to pass the age verification.

    Btw any valid MRZ passes the check (not necessarily one from a real document). The system (also used e.g. by PSN and Blizzard) is plain stupid.
