      With 6 different languages already? I don’t see the point unless these countries left the EU

      I’d say many Finnish ppl would be against that, because the history with Sweden

      Too small to be a player on the world stage now. And slap bang in the middle of the strategic Arctic region. The 21st century will be *interesting* for us.

      What would the point be?
      What would change from how it is currently?
      There already are special rules in place for the nordic countries when it comes to things that matters.

      I would prefer that over EU. Similar thing what EU is, but between nordic countries only.

      All the possible positives that this might give are already established. Freedom of movement, freedom of capital, freedom of telling Swedes that they are the worst…

      UAE style loose federation where countries maintain super high level of autonomy would probably work. Could just use the Kalmar flag for the union while each state has its own flag, for historical reasons, instead of trying to make some bastardized one.

      This would be largely dissatisfactory. I’d prefer if we ruled over ourselves.

      Russia saved us from imperialist Sweden already once, and we got rid of Russia too, getting independent.

      Never again. It would never be equal members but Swedes ruling again (at least in their own mind).

      We have traditionally been the “untermench” to Swedes. They have never apologized or even regretted, and even the Finnish “Swedish party” has until recently been granting medals in honor of Mr. Freudenthal.

      The history of Finland and Sweden is not that bright and shiny.. At one time, 10% of population of Finland died fighting wars of Sweden, under imperialist rule..

      Very little would probably change. So like, if the majority feels strongly about doing this then sure, i don’t have any objections.

      The only real benefit would be to address the indigenous question of the Sami people and let them have a breakaway state in the north.

      No, not until we get the immigrants out, a union between us would be possible if we are all on the same side, we all have common sense and true familiarity with each other, but then there’s just people who we can’t have in it

      I think Estonia could join because of similar language to finnish and our past relations

      As a region inside the EU it sounds fine. Outside of the EU is a stillborn fantasy.
