It looks like Trump has just taken something Russia was going to bargain for.

I was unaware Venezuela was part of russia to give.

And how? They don’t have any control there to begin with. Russia doesn’t have any leverage in Venezuela to be able to do that. Except Trump falls for their tricks again.
Note that this was in 2019. Trump doesn’t need Russia anymore to take Venezuela.

I reckon what they mean by this is that US recognises Ukraine as Russia and Russia will recognise Venezuela as part of the US.
