Mi sono svegliato con questa crepa sulla mia finestra. È dentro, ma non so come sia successo. Di solito apro completamente la finestra per aerare la stanza, quindi forse ha colpito un oggetto che era sul bancone…
Ad ogni modo, non sono sicuro di come procedere. Devo prima contattare il mio padrone di casa, contattare prima la Haftpflichtversicherung (la mia dice che copre i danni nelle stanze in affitto)?

You should proceed with repairing.
First, send this to yours landlord. If you have an insurance, send also this to them.
It is not your fault. Ask an anyone who works with windows. The crack originates on the edge of the glass. I doubt your insurance would even pay for it and tell you it is not your fault. That said it is common for leases in Germany to require tenants to cover a certain amount of annual repair costs.
I had a similar occurrence in my flat. It could be because of temperature differences and/or vibrations from the streets nearby. The handyman told me that.
