Yes, it’s fine. You can undo there, it has got a sealed valve behind it with a pin that the thermostat actuates.
Do you know it’s the thermostat not working? The pin might be seized so give it a sharp tap and push it in and out.
Otherwise the radiator might need to be bled. You might need to bleed a bit of air first then seal it before any water can flow in. Then once (if) you hear it filling you can bleed off again until water comes out the nipple.
