When mental health professionals and the Gardaí are both involved in a family, I strongly feel we need a change the law about allowing a mentally ill criminal-act inclined person have residence with, power and control over; any elderly people, vulnerable people or children.
Especially after a threat to kill.
I don’t under why we keep allowing this to happen.

Tulsa has failed a child, that poor kid had his entire life ahead of him.
Just like many kids and families around Ireland that they have let down. They are unfit for purpose. I have a little knowledge of the staffing situation and it’s a complete joke from the entry level admin to senior management. If people saw the money and time spent on the most important stuff you’d cry.

At the time, RTE/I.Times/Spindo, etc, reported that “the father and son had been found *safe and well*”…?

Every comment I see on this is berating Túsla and not one berating the obvious shortcomings of the guards and justice system here. Why was there no prosecution out of this absolutely terrifying act? This poor child obviously spent his life in fear, and correctly. There are mothers up and down the country being forced to send their kids back to abusers just like this one every poxy day. There is no safety and no protection in place for them and the family courts are a disgrace.
