It amazes me how the right wing who are so worried about groomers also make excuses for this.

It’s almost like they are using people’s fears rather than actually caring.

Good, now let’s watch the south african pedo enabler (and his band of blackshirt bots) throw a tantrum about it.

    > ‘Asked if she would support a ban on X amid the controversy over people using Grok as a nudification tool, Badenoch said: “I think banning X is the wrong answer. I’m not even sure what question it is that they’re answering.

    >’”What we are seeing is a Labour government that did not have a plan, and they’re just throwing out random policies, probably to distract from the fact that they’re putting businesses in a very difficult position.”

    WTF is she on about?

The moment it became clear the website was actively creating child abuse material it should have been blocked.

Our systems are way too slow to react, why is it a week later we are still “investigating” before taking action?

I don’t like the idea of outright banning websites, but in this case I’d be happy with it.

This is just the last in a long list of X’s failures and musk doesn’t care about our laws or the EU’s laws, he knows he can rely on trump to threaten and bully anyone that tries to take action

  6. I swear 2015 onwards has been a project of desensitization.

We’ve now hit the point where the richest man in the world can facilitate the production of inappropriate child images and deepfakes, justifies it by claiming such functionality requires a subscription fee & it’s shrugged off, it seems the most controversial thing here to discuss enforcement of the rules/laws.

Polite letters of unprecedented firmness about to be sent 👀

Why does it need to “investigate”. It’s a straight up fact that Grok simply doesn’t have the filters the majority of other AI imagine manipulation services do.

Who is still using this trash app? Deleted my account as soon as the human slug acquired it and haven’t missed it at all

Remember if the body has an “Of” it will prove to be a meaningless investigation that at best will ultimately conclude with a slap on the wrist

Good. Shame it took them this long though. Investigations should have started as soon as musk made the platform hostile to trans people and welcomed back all of the nazis

I’m glad i deleted twitter years ago and never looked back

I can certainly see Twitter/X getting a fine over this, but banning? i don’t see that as a solution. If ban any site that has had CSAM on it every internet forum would be taken down. If its Grok generating these images (it no longer does) then do we not also have to ban all AI image generation considering that they can all be used to create such images.

i think alot of them can do it right? cant they just put rules in to not allow it?

I click on the link and the top headline is something something about how disgraced Chancellor Zahawi, the man who charged us for warming up his horses, has detected to Reform.

I suppose this is the nature of “rolling news” but ffs I give (almost) no shits about the fact that an Iraqi-born ex-Chancellor whose family’s immigration into this country gave him brilliant chances in life but who is now apparently choosing to align himself with a party that, given his own personal history, should be deeply fucking questionable.

No! I care about whether our regulatory bodies will actually have the balls to stand up to weird, exploitative, and gross AI generated content that is accessible by children.

OFCOM! Generally you are shit but this is your time to shine!!

(My point: pin it to the top of your timeline, sky news!)

Why don’t we just ban all phones and computers at this point, no one can be trusted

The same wrong ens using twitter for this are gunna be using another ai app or website to continue in the future, surely there’s something else that can be done and I don’t even have twitter

Twitter has been full of CP and other vile illegal fetishes since Elon took over, before Grok even existed, and the accounts who upload this shit openly flaunt it with little to no repurcusions. Grooming goes on constantly on Twitter while Elon’s sycophants bang their drums about grooming gangs on the same site. I am completely against the banning of social media sites in general but Twitter is one of the rare exceptions that I think has to go.

While great, what are OfCom going to do?
Tell Twitter to not do that, of which Twitter will ignore it?

Like all these ads they ban.
The ad has already been shown so the dis-information has already happened. Ban the ad yes, but ban that person for advertising for X amount of months. That will teach them to be careful. Every ad could be banned but no consequences.

Why any decent human being would still have a Twitter account after this racist POS bought the company is baffling.

  20. the genie is out of the bottle.

until the world (not individuals, companies or singular countries) comes to a consensus on what/how we can use or regulate AI, then these “conflicts” will continue to escalate as big businesses like X, Meta, Microsoft et al, have too much skin in the game to lose – and clearly they are willing to sacrifice their morals for shareholder profit.

  21. Bobo3076 on

It should absolutely be investigated but I fear this will be used as ammunition for the government to further destroy our privacy, what little we have left.

  22. MichaelAndretti on

Weird framing…how is this political? There’s no right or left to this. It’s just wrong and despicable regardless of one’s political leaning
