      And Queenstown, NZ was named after Queenstown, Ireland. Which is known today as Cobh.

      They got to the South Island, found it to be a green land with grey skies and constant rain, and nodded approvingly.

      Greymouth was reserved for those who *really* didn’t like the sun.

      I just knew the man who named it New Munster had to be from any Munster county except Cork. There’s no way if he was from Cork he wouldn’t have named it New Cork.

      Copycats. But then again, there’s a Münster in Germany that is very likely older than our Munster

      heard years ago if we drilled a hole through (a part) of Ireland straight through the earth it would come out on the south Island in NZ. Not sure how true that it is but I ran with it either way
