    >The U.K. government must “dare to have principles” and help Greenland repel threats from Donald Trump, a senior minister in Greenland’s government told lawmakers in London.

Now that is a difficult ask.

What’s Keir going to do? Trump will not listen to the little man.

Well if we hadn’t ostracized ourself from the continent maybe we would be in a position to take any stances about anything.

Starmer has to realise that it will not be possible to stay on Trumps “good” side for years. If he plays it safe here he will only have to make the same decision in a much worse future

  5. How much will the EU charge us if the UK wants to get involved with the defence of a territory of a founding (?) EU nation?

In the might makes right world, I think the only thing that would help keep Greenland European is a massive increase in population. But that would make it less Greenlandic. And despite its size, I’m not sure it could support a few million people.

Trump is going to do whatever he wants, no matter what we do.

That should worry Starmer a lot because it will spell out our relationship with them forever if we choose to not stand up to them now. Either we firmly stand up to them now and choose to separate from them, or we do nothing substantial and choose to bend over to appease Trump. Either we stand for something or fall for anything.

She said she would “like to repeat my gratitude” for Starmer’s support of Greenland, and said the U.K. must “insist upon the global community upholding international law” and “stress the relevance of NATO as a relevant and important alliance.”

Starmer has warned Trump that Greenland’s future must be decided by Denmark and Greenland alone. Danish PM Mette Frederiksen has told the U.S. it has no right to the Arctic territory.

Remember when Ethiopia took pleas to parliament regarding Italy?

Wonder if we are just heading to the same outcome as before.
