Why are so many of our politicians (and media) so obsessed with Trump / the US? You don’t need to give a constant running commentary on what’s happening in a foreign country, you’re the Mayor of London.

I like that **Sadiq Khan** is not inclined to appease **Donald Trump**, but he does need to correct himself here. Nobody has the same skin colour as Trump.

Fair play to Khan for actually speaking out against him and his policies, but unfortunately his words word fix anything.

The most interesting part of this interview to me was the discussion about the large amount of misinformation being spread by the American right about London and also about the UK in general, they know full well that what Khan is doing works and that scares them so much they have to lie.
It’s a direct threat to the trump regime that London can be safe with a Muslim in charge and while not needing to send poorly trained armed men into towns to violently detain people.
What’s interesting is how quickly regular Americans will jump on the idea of shria law in London or people being arrested for being mean and believe it instantly, I think it’s because they need to think that we are doing worse or that things elsewhere are dystopian. If they didn’t think that they might have to look at their own nation.
