      I think it is now plainly visible who our real friends are. On the one side is Trump punishing us simply for our values, and on the other side is Mercosur who want to do mutually beneficial business with us and be friends.

      And just like that, Big Brain Donny pushed much of South America into Europe’s orbit and Canada is drifting towards China right now.

      Honestly, I couldn’t blame the world if countries starting dumping dollars en masse to dedollarize. It’d cause immense damage and as usual the middle classes and below will bear the brunt of it but at this point Trump’s unhinged Administration is becoming a global threat to stability.

      So much talk about the environment and sustainability and now we are going to import cereals and meat from an ocean away undercutting farmers with much worse regulations.

      Diversify trade, improve / deepen relations with countries all around the world while protecting yourself against unfair competition and unhinged tariff regimes.

      This is what the EU must focus on, while at the same time removing the remaining internal barriers and hence strengthening from within.

      If we do all that, we will come out stronger from all of this, actually have a stronger position in this new world order without order.

      So UK can have trade without being net contributor to the eu . That’s all they asking. What was the drama about.

      I’m glad this was done so fast, otherwise some lobbies could have made it more difficult or we could have to wait another decade for it, and we need it now.

      I hope anyone who gets affected by it gets a compensation so they can adapt to the new situation, but I think this is great news for the EU as a whole, but also for the Mercosur countries.
