And that’s how the history books will read:

“Consfused by Trump, Denmark decided to sell Greenland to the US”.

    Trump was actually a magician.

  2. Wonderful-Variation on

They need to drop the niceties. They tried to appease him and flatter him, it’s not working anymore.

Thats the idea. He wants more european troops on the ground and access rights for mining. I think that’s what he wants. The same goes for ukraine.

    Trump’s incoherent rambling leaves EU ~~leaders~~ guessing ~~over Greenland~~

    FTFY

  5. Suitable-Capital-318 on

Its like if a toddler rambles and your guessing what it wants, waste of time.

Christ on a bike, the EU needs to show leadership and stop pandering to an  incoherent  American president

  7. We should stop reacting to x/twitter/truth/shitter and wait for official diplomacy channels to get their stance on anything…

For the 50 millionth time – Senile, pant shitting Trump isn’t running the US, hes just a distraction. His very purpose is to muddy the waters while the Heritage Foundation et al go about building an authoritarian state in the US. There is no chaos, there is a plan built and being implementd by a cabal of very smart and very rich sociopaths.

If they want Greenland, and it looks very much like they do, then the US will invade if it doesnt secure it by other means.

Does Trump even decide anything? Isn’t he already so senile that his royal court is making all the decisions for him? He just repeats what the last person he spoke to said to him

  10. Turbulent-Watch-1889 on

Well, one of them told him to ‘fk off…’

    The EU have had enough…

Article under paywall, could you please paste a Summary?

His own administration officials should think hard on invoking the 25th.

  13. dudesweetman on

We should put over 9000% tarifs on goods produced in MAGA states and let then remain in place until there is a new US administration.

  14. hyakumanben on

Well, stop guessing then. It’s already clear that we can’t view USA as an ally anymore. What more do you need?

Fat orange is going to propose a 200 year lease. Just say “take your stinking paws off Greenland, you damn, dirty ape”

  16. Could we just respond with incoherent ramble? What would happen?

  17. ghallway on

Trump has deep psychological problems and I am tired of people saying he doesn’t.

  18. What’s to guess? He will take Greenland if no one stops him.

  19. alba_Phenom on

It’s going to be an absolute disaster when this idiot makes it to Davos and starts doubling down on all of his stupidity. The Europeans need to be clear that invading Greenland could lead to bullets being fired between US and NATO troops, even if the reality is that we wouldn’t do that.

He just doesn’t respect weakness and you need to stand up to him.

Serious people need to start talking very loudly about how he’s creating an unstable environment for business and how he’s completely unpredictable and nobody can actually plan or negotiate anything politically or in trade, internationally or in terms of the US’ own domestic economy.

Everyone’s being too polite from politicians to businesses and the US media and much of big US business is basically complicit either directly or by being utterly spinless and trying to step around this without upsetting him.

This is being normalised because people who drive decision making aren’t calling it out. They’re dancing around Mad King Donnie and it’s going to end badly. There’ll almost certainly be an economic crash and probably an extremely bad one, and he could very easily cause some bizarre armed conflict internationally or massive internal instability and violence in the US itself.

Most of the public increasingly think the world is going mad because the opposition to this obviously unhinged man is so weak and everyone’s tiptoeing around him, and it’s all driven because the US has a dysfunctional political system and a very brittle constitutional system that isn’t really capable of reform.

There’s this unreality going on at the moment where the systems and the great and the good are still pretending this is normal or manageable. We aren’t using the correct and accurate terminology and it needs to move beyond giggling nervously on the sidelines.

Are we all going to just sit though another rambling demented speech (if you can even call them that), with everyone who has power and influence pretending that’s somehow normal?

When history is eventually written about this era the words cult, cowards and spineless will probably be used a lot.

One wonders how wealthy American retirees will be received if they’re travelling to Europe this Summer

They’re going to make a commercial promoting his “success.” It’ll come with an executive order that it be shown every 10 minutes or the channels will be shut down.

  23. Candygramformrmongo on

    That’s his plan. Unintelligible. Unpredictable.

  24. Relative-Ad1383 on

After seeing the messages they have been sending him…. I can honestly say the only thing more pathetic than Trump, is Rutte and Macron. Don’t kid yourself, it’s all tough talk on the front, appeasement in the back room.

Reading the messages of Rutte makes me want to vomit. Never have I been more embarrassed to be a European.
