If people can use new surnames when people get married then they can use pronouns..it’s not that hard
But is this not the very thing that kicked off the Enoch Burke fiasco.
The whole pronouns row is just making mountains out of anthills. It takes no real effort to use an individuals preferred pronoun.People against it are often those who cry out about freedoms and their rights as individuals, but surely having the freedom and right to decide your pronouns should be a good thing then?
My kids school refused to call me Ms not Mrs, I’ve never been married.
He, she, they. It’s easy. But I think they don’t want to write in a law that gives roam because someone’s gonna take the piss and start referring to themself as Xe, Xem, Xer and all that shite.
The problem with making such things mandatory in rules and guidelines is that it gives fuel to insufferable bolloxes to make an issue out of such things.
It should **not** be obligatory, in law or guidance, to respect a person’s preferred pronouns. It should, however, not be socially acceptable to be an objectionable bellend and misgender trans people because you have some weird contrarian objection to them, and anyone going out of their way to do it should be roundly mocked by everyone else.
If you can’t be a decent person yourself, then you can expect others be forced to put up with your nonsense.
One state funded organisation fighting with another. They should really go and sue each other in the High court next.
I can’t help but feel this and all the Enoch Burke stuff is just a distraction tactic by many of those in power. How many people actually care about this compared to the housing crisis, shite transport, failing healthcare, privatised&expensive social care and childcare?
Yet thousands of people are made homeless and waiting on trolleys and unable to get to work etc from bad transport – and increasingly the front page is about the 101st time Enoch Burke is sent back to prison.
Our media has a responsibility to provide a public service and it seems many are failing in this. It’s not helped by toxic algorithms on social media pushing all the anti-trans posts from yanks to millions of us for hours a day..

Like if a teacher addressed someone in the room it would be done using their name
