Come cittadino svizzero sono preoccupato per quella che viene chiamata democrazia negli Stati Uniti. Come può una persona così essere presidente di una nazione?

As long as we call a spade a spade, who cares if Trump sees a pitchfork

The USA will not easily recover from his administration. Trump completely wrecked the soft power the USA once had.

His brain amputated supporters think the USA can go alone with just their military might. It totally shows the mentality behind MAGA, where they think the best way to do things is to be aggressive and a “bad ass”.

We are watching an empire collapse in real time.

You do undertstand the concept of a democracy, right ? That is because it is a democracy that he was elected… Sure, they do not have a direct democracry, but still.

Watching what’s happening in Minnesota reminds me of my studies on WWII: Hitler’s life and personality that led to the Holocaust, the Night of the Broken Glass, the French resistance, the Gestapo… and I don’t like exaggerated comparisons.

I hope people from each side wake up and realize they are being pitted against each other by bigger powers than one can see. It has to be more than Trump. Everybody can see dementia creeping in, he’s just an angry shell, a puppet with hidden masters.

If he could sell his ignorance, he’d be trillionaire overnight. His speech was an abomination. 😡

He won thanks to Elon Musk, that freak. We live in hard, scary times…

It’s nothing for you to be concerned about. He was elected whether you agree with it or not. It’s a 4-year term. You’ll be okay.

if any, this should be encouragement to study, pick up a book – read and make sure your children get a proper education about what enables them to be free and enjoy the priviledges they are enabled to, in Europe

We need to let go of this idea that we somehow have a shared culture with the US. We don’t. They may have invented modern liberal democracy, but they never implemented it. It has been a country run by a ruling class exploiting the majority of their population since before it declared independence, and that has never really changed.

Elections don’t mean anything when your government is actively undermining public education and supporting a media ecosystem where the worst misinformation always floats to the top, and the owners of America have made sure of that for a very long time now.

I think what we here in Switzerland need to do is to ask ourselves why we have such vastly better outcomes than the US despite the fact that our political system (federalism and the same system of checks and balances) is modeled after theirs. I would say it’s a functioning education system and social safety net, the fact that our executive branch is not elected directly by the people, the fact that we’re not a two party system, and the fact that we have publicly funded information media. Not necessarily in that order. Those are the things that make us different from the US, and I would be very wary of people who want to destroy these things because we can see where that leads right now, in real time.

  10. crazy how in 2 minutes of video you said nothing but only insulted him. Not saying I am pro-trump in any way, but this is not the way to criticize a politician. You are as brain-dead (your own words) as him

Should have stopped listening at “slimey”, dude clearly is a far left leaning pundit incapable of any logic in reasoning, or providing literally any example of his claims. Switzerland in the next 5-10 years will be solving very similar problems. Cost of living, high unemployment, unchecked immigration, increasing costs of goods and services (we already see this in things like insurance premiums). Perhaps this guy should be looking inward at his own country instead of pointing the finger. Also, “we are watching a geriatric patient”, is he serious? That was Biden. How about we replay clips of Biden and Trump side by side. I’ll show you geriatric.

    EDIT:
Dude has 34 subscribers on YT. Started making videos on Jan 14 2026. No wonder.

  12. We’d take away Grandpa’s car keys if he’d be in such a state.

Americans vote him into highest office.

    Different standards.

What has this to do with switzerland?
This video was just 2min of personal insults.
Not a single Argument was made here.

You have trump derangement syndrome. Trump is fantastic

As a swiss citizen i feel concerned about the trump hate from our mainstream medias every day. When do we talk about europe and how fucked we are with our useless politics?

    Naah lets hate trump 🤣

I am concerned and weirded out by what literally every other country calls “democracy”.

Switzerland is the only democracy in the world.

    Job well done, MAGAts 👌

SRF has a good reportage about it, “my family in the US”.

Trump is just the product of their binary political system. What they need is an overhaul of it, more in line with for example the Swiss one, where there is also grey and colours in a parliament + not one führer.

If you are republican, you have only one senile 80 year old to vote for, because he knew best how to appeal the uneducated mass.
This is for them still better than voting for the other extreme, which is democrats. Like being SVP, but you need to vote SP or the other way around.

Duely elected. Doing wonders for his country. Great President.

  21. Thercon_Jair on

If we continue to dismantle societal guiderails, we will arrive at the exact same position as the USA down the line.

The upcoming SRF vote will be a watershed moment. We either stay in control of the political discourse, or we hand the control over to other people with an interest in extracting more money. And more money can be extracted if we’re continually fighting while the super wealthy do as they wish, with us too busy shouting at each other.

  22. Elmer-Fudd-Gantry on

To this day, and I’m American, I ask myself this question almost daily. It’s a very scary place to be. He is now quite unpopular here so all I can surmise is that a lot of uneducated people bought in to the craziness that he was selling…..but didn’t expect it to get THIS crazy. Others that voted for him are just cruel and proudly racist and fine with his madness.

  23. Cinesider8 on

On the flip side, let’s get our leader Guy Parmelin to learn how to string 4 words in English without looking at his notes. What a shame it is to hear him praise Trump with the English level of someone who’s never left VD.

  24. Have you seen our largest party in the parliament? They have the same kind of discourse, in so many ways. Trump got ~30% of the citizen, Harris got 30% and 40% did not vote. Our system is less susceptible of that 30% taking over, but it’s still there.

  25. atalantafugiens on

I know several people here in the Ostschwiiz that are redpilled Trump fans which worries me quite a bit, this complete disregard for intellectual/professional people in places of power is scary, especially combined with a society bound to their phones. All the right wing billionaires own all the platforms, why are we sucking up to them like this is the highest degree of social entropy we can create. Fuck that
