I wish I was smart enough to understand the intricacies that make our government so incapable of change, be it fast or slow when compared to another first world country.

The bigger problem is the drivers going around at 20 or 30kmh under the speed limit. Takes a bloody age to get anywhere these days.

Why are we getting a third party to do this when we could literally just have automated cameras permanently in place?

Can we just do roundabout enforcement? I honestly couldn’t care less if you want to drive fast within reason. The amount of times I’ve nearly been side swiped by someone in the wrong lane or no indicators pales in comparison to dangerous speeding

We need to think beyond speed. Electric cars are silent. Very dangerous particularly on country roads. We have lack of footpaths take stillorgan road in dublin never mind the country side. Little progress maybe regress in bus infrastructure to support people to leave the car. Too much emphasis on bikes. Which is see over time is not a solution but arguably a hindered to ex bus lanes expansion. Some bus lanes were removed for bike lanes. If you take 1 bus it transports potentially more than all the cycleists per day or hour. Crazy.

  6. Got my first speeding ticket in about 18 years in Limerick heading into the M7. I was in a 100 zone and about 100m short of the 120 sign and the van in front of me hid the speed van. I was accelerating and was doing 109kph. Shooting fish in a barrel with no visible danger zone. Yes I was speeding but I still feel cheated

Why not just have more average speed zones such as Nenagh / Birdhill run. Travel that a lot rarely if there speeding.
