This is virtue signalling. There will be no boycott.

  2. NewOil7911 on

How can you boycott the recipient of Fifa’s peace prize folks :/

  3. MedicalHair69 on

If Europe won’t even collectively boycott Eurovision, what makes you think they will boycott this? This is just hollow threats and posturing, nothing more. Nothing will come of this.

US here – if one country’s organization boycotted, and the event was held without them, what would that do to the groups? What are their chances of getting cash from FIFA after that?

  5. StrangerConscious637 on

You don’t do a World Cup in fascist countries.

  6. Raj_ryder_666 on

Ok i can see why some people might be in favor of this but do remember we all watched the world cup when it was hosted in qatar and russia.

  7. Swimming-Obligation9 on

I don’t think there will be a boycott. Pretty sure they held a World Cup in Argentina during a military dictatorship.

  8. Internal_Sun_9632 on

With the price of the tickets, it might look like a boycott when half the games are empty stadiums.

  9. AdOriginal1084 on

I already know lots of people who have bought tickets accommodation etc going to away international games in football is normally amazing i hope if this does happen they get reimbursed by the respective FA’s fucking 800 pound a ticket and the accommodation is even more mental

This guys from St Pauli Hamburg and is super political. He is the president of St Pauli where Che Guevara is like their unofficial mascot. They’re known for hanging banners like “no one is illegal.” Very progressive for what it’s worth not everyone is going to go along with this far left stance.

Stop virtue signalling. You went to Qatar and Russia. Hypocrites.

I’m quite convinced that money will win in the end and nothing will happen, but anyway…. it’s only me who finds it absurdingly funny (and not in the nicest, “fun” sense of the word) that we hade world cups first in Russia and then in Qatar, but it’s the USA one that risks being actually boycotted?

  13. RichardXV on

Europe should boycott this charade. Stay together. Fuck trump. Fuck this asshole.

  14. madhatterlock on

Haha, just lip service. Same way you boycotted the World Cup in Qatar, after using slave labor. At least you will be able to find beer.. Also, its the Americas, so not just the USA.

  15. Shoddy_Squash_1201 on

When was the last World Cup there wasn’t a call for boycott?
It doesn’t really seem to be hurting them.

At least I haven’t hurt anything about it in the past, but I also don’t really care about football.

  16. ChoosenUserName4 on

The European teams should all boycott this fascist fest and the unbelievably corrupt FIFA, but they’re not going to. This will be my third world cup where I will not watch. I hope they all lose.

  17. Special-Audience-426 on

Get the South Americans in on the boycott and everyone will follow.

We can have a replacement tournament elsewhere.

  18. oldhellenyeller on

Europe won’t boycott games in Russia or stop buying their gas, but will virtue signal about boycotting the US lmao

  19. CountFew6186 on

Please do. Trump will be insulted, and 99% of Americans won’t care because we don’t follow soccer.

  20. AccountDramatic6971 on

As a non European, when will the EU Crack down on FIFA? They’re blatantly corrupt and not to mention the verbal hand job the ceo gave to Trump

  21. DouglasQUAID88 on

Russia and Qatar got selected in the most obvious corrupt selection process ever in FIFA, but now people draw the line?? Yea, fuck off, I’ll watch it.

  22. R3dscarf on

FIFA really has a talent to pick the worst countries for holding the world cup recently.

  23. OptimizationBot on

Do it. Please. We need this man out of the White House and unless rich folks start to lose a lot of money nothing will happen.

  24. arruda82 on

The message would be great and way more important today than the event itself. It’d be nice to see only half a dozen of countries aligned with trump participating and making a fool of themselves.

  25. Upper_Supermarket474 on

What does the U.S. even have to offer besides crime and fentanyl

  26. Blubbolo on

Either we boycott it now or after it started and tons of fans get sent to their concentration camps by ICE just because they aren’t white, have an accent or don’t speak English.

Because that’s what will happen, 100%.
