Most people and companies only care about the environment if they can make money off it or it doesn’t inconvenience them in the slightestÂ
I’m broadly okay with this kind of measure, but I think it generally has to be EU-wide or you’re just shooting yourself in the foot.Â
I’d say we’re like an Africa nation when it comes to resources. Most of the profits move abroad.
The idea that an island nation depending on airtravel for connectivity would heavily tax airlines sounds less than ideal to me.
Should we divest from fossil fuels? Yes. Should we take unilateral actions which make the country less resilient at this time? No.
Another pointless measure to look and feel good.
