Grazie

Yes, that looks pretty accurate and normal.

I wonder, what did you expect you’d get in a hospital? Fast Food? 3 course meals?

Lol sadly very normal. After I had my baby they gave me soup with three carrot cubes in it two days in a row. I stated that I was allergic to carrots multiple times before. That pasta looks heavenly in comparison to anything else I‘ve seen in a hospital.

  3. I mean you pay like 10€ per night for medical things, nursing, bed and food.

What exactly were you hoping for, a menu with multiple choices?

You are probably in bed the entire day, seems to be enough to keep you alive.

The breakfast and dinner is basically what millions of boomers have been eating every day their entire life and the lunch, well it could have been even worse.

Well, what’s your expecations? While it’s surely not superior restaraurant quality, to me, what I see from your pictures, looks fine.

Looks simple, but fulfilling the purpose to help you get better soon without risking dietary restrictions or causing problems.

The lunch looks alright. Tbh as a german I HATE eating bread for dinner. I want smth warm… but I also don’t really eat a big lunch.

In hospitals the world over, food as medicine is not really a thing. Often what’s offered is for economic reasons (for cheap efficient food options), with a goal to provide caloric sustenance not quality or nutrition.

Secondly, food is very personal. yes, there are often cultural food norms, but often you cannot satisfy every palate.

This looks like pretty much normal food 🍱, given that its being provided in hospital 🏥

Yeah, this is nornal but tze noodles actually don’t look to bad for a change.

When you are recovering in the hospital, a low protein diet is ideal. Protein is very inflammatory, the idea is not body building but low inflammation recovery.

  10. I could’ve seen the first image without any context and I’d immediately know it was German.

  11. What else would you expect, schnitzel with fries and mayo? What you get there is enough to survive.

Yep pretty standard. If you have an additional assurance you get more choices.

I spent in total roughly 4 weeks in German Hospitals over the last 3 years. And yes this is normal. Typically, there is some variation. All in all, i think Hospital food is fine in Germany. Not great, but definitely good.

  17. Well, it’s not too shabby but yeah, what do we expect. It’s good food but you can feel the efficiency

That breakfast is pretty much what I eat for breakfast when I’m there (I throw in a Laugenbrötchen because I’m bougie.)

    Y’all get food?

In my last 3- hospital stays I got one sandwich, one jello, one pineapple juice and one lunch (Schonkost)

I always miss Schnitzel day too 🙁

I wasn’t able to eat normal food for about a week after my operation. Food staff didn’t give a fuck. Really sad.

In German hospitals, the standard meal is generally bread, cheese, a slice of tomato, and a slice of red pepper. Breakfast usually consists of bread, butter, jam, and coffee. Lunch is often pasta or rice, and on Fridays, it’s a minced pork patty (like a burger) with rice.

Theres a few letters difference between “hotel” and “hospital”. Its food, okay?
