I’m all for it, but as you seem to do more u turns than I do using Google maps to navigate just call another referendum and get it over and done with, perhaps we can get back the last 5 yrs of stupidity and get the economy back on the right footing

Paywall : Can someone give a quick recap ? Is he saying that his policy is to get over brexit and rebuild link with the EU ? Another referendum ? A Swiss or Norway solution ?

Starmer should really run on rejoining. Half of the country wants it and within the other half there are enough people who understand they otherwise stand alone in the world.

Can we just ban paywall articles without pasting the content? The thread is pointless otherwiseÂ

Let’s see what Starmer can achieve with the EU. As of now he has given away fish, signed a security and defence pact, and accepted Erasmus youth mobility for what exactly?
If the EU doesn’t reciprocate, then the question before the next GE will be that is there any benefit in unwinding what was agreed by the previous government..

Rejoin is well underway. It’s not going to happen properly for a while & we’ll rejoin under a worse ‘deal’ than the one we had, but it is going to happen.

I hope it gets hard for the UK to rejoin. And a lot off demands should be accounted for.

FT,com are consistently spinning their own bias. This is about reducing trade restrictions and nothing about re-joining the EU.

I don’t think it’s realistic to assume that the UK will rejoin the EU as a full member. A more realistic approach would be to have the UK back as part of the EEA, a similar status with the one Switzerland has.

I would be all in for having a strong UK under a strong EU. However, rules to enter and leave the country need to be clearly defined, this cannot become a 10 years in 10 years out kind of thing.

He seems to like agreeing visa free travel. I wouldn’t be surprised if he tried to get free movement back as we’re in desperate need for skilled workers.
