  1. the worst part is people’s cruelty, treating you like a less of a person because of something you did not choose

Fake or will regret in a year. Just because i am loseing all my hair in 20 I should get the best parking spots? I dont feel great about it but the hair is not the problem its how i look at it. Or will bold people be put in mental hospitals? Jokes aside I feel like I should get a free winter hat every 3-5 years.

I’ve been bald af since I was 26 or so and at no time has it ever impacted my happiness, my ability to do anything, or anyone’s reaction to me that I care about.

    I mean ffs.

I’m going to hazard a guess and I may not be a fancy southern lawyer. . . .but I’m going to guess the very Judge in this ruling has had a life long stain on his very self and is in fact bald

All the guys in the comments saying there is no problems with going bald without offering balling (typo: balding) women, and the stigma that brings, a single thought.

Edit: even for men hair loss can be really distressing. Look at the hair loss subs.

Had a mate in the 80s who was completely bald. No body hair at all (so his girlfriend told us).

He said it was great – people tended to give him a wide berth in clubs/pubs.

Over 50% of men over 50 suffer pattern baldness. It’s not a disability.

Not having both legs is a disability. Having partial hair loss is not. A judge should know the difference.

  8. Note, that this is in the context of wigs for women.

I guess in our society it is a lot easier for men to deal with baldness than for women.

Just for women. Baldness is a disability for women. It’s repeated in the article multiple times, but not in the title.

This is simply to do with certain items being tax exempt due to being disability aids.

People clearly arent reading the article before commenting. Its also predominantly to do with women and hair loss.

  11. People reading the title and not the article, our favourite Reddit comment combos.

At the time I’m writing this comment, there are 22 comments on this post, only one of whom has actually read the article.

  13. People on reddit really can’t read the article before commenting. This ruling only rules that severe baldness is a disability for WOMEN. Not that every bald guy is now disabled.

and here I sit paying 100% out of pocket for my glasses and lenses that I NEED TO NAVIGATE THE WORLD ON A DAILY BASIS.

This is the type of post that reveals how much male-centered Reddit actually is. A lot of comments don’t take into account the greater social stigma balding women, especially if they’re young, face in our societies.

So, here’s my gender discrimination work around:
Bald men first need to self-identify as women so they can then claim tax exemption for a male-styled wig.

    I could see why.

But I don’t like that the ruling is because of some private company rather than because of the balding women (or men, if one cared, its not exactly as socially “unacceptable” for men) needed monetary help for a wig.

Having to pay less in VAT would probably translate to bigger profits for them, rather than cheaper wigs for women. When has a business having to pay less ever resulted in less cost for the customer?
