Ciao amici norvegesi,
Stiamo progettando di visitare il vostro adorabile paese con un bambino di tre anni, uno di 15 mesi e il loro nonno di 71 anni. Ci piacerebbe moltissimo vedere l’Aurora.
Il nostro vago piano è di volare a Oslo in ottobre, visitare un po’ Oslo, prendere un treno per Bergen, vedere alcuni fiordi/ecc., e poi volare a nord, magari a Tromsø, per (si spera) vedere l’Aurora. Stavamo valutando di fare uno dei tour dell’Aurora (es. Inseguimento delle luci, quello con il gufo, ecc.). Qualcuno ha esperienza nel farne uno con bambini di questa età ? Se sì, pensi che lo tollererebbero bene?
Inoltre, qualcuno ha qualche consiglio particolare su cose da fare e da vedere in queste zone? Può trattarsi di cose legate alla natura, cose culturali, ristoranti, ecc. Siamo molto aperti ai suggerimenti.

Addendum: we’re not sure if we’re going to rent a car, but for what it’s worth, we are from New York State, and we have plenty of experience driving on snow and ice.

I dont know if October is the best month for tourism in general, spring and fall are the quiet seasons here north, if you want to see the Aurora mid winter is a better bet, november-january is when we have polar nights so it gives you the best chance.
As for rental cars, it’s not guaranteed that you will be allowed to rent one, since the public here has started demanding tourists not be allowed to drive on our roads in winter, and a Chinese family killed two 70 year olds this week the debate has been opened about restricting tourists. If nothing happens, which is the most likely outcome because our governmental officials are spineless idiots, Please make sure you rent a car with 4×4 and studded tires
Someone more knowledgeable on this will probably give better advice, im just a fed up local who wants our roads to be safe during winter, since they are clogged with germans during summer

When traveling from Oslo to Bergen, do the Norway in a Nutshell tour instead of a straight run to Bergen.
