Ciao a tutti, sono tornato dalle vacanze e ho trovato questa interessante lettera del Finanzamt che mi chiedeva di pagare 750€. Non capisco per cosa. Ho fatto la mia dichiarazione dei redditi per il 2024 e ho dovuto pagare 300€ in più, cosa che ho fatto l’anno scorso. Adesso chiedono 750€ per il 2025, anche se non ho ancora fatto la dichiarazione per il 2025. Di solito lo faccio ad aprile. Devo aspettare? Chiamare e lamentarsi?

The amount is for 2024, not 2025. They do not ask for money for the tax year 2025, but 2024, due December 2025, that you missed.
Clearly your tax return for 2024 mandated that you make quarterly prepayments. You have to pay 657 € as a prepayment for the fourth quarter of 2025 + 78 € of soli, aswell as a 14 € fee for late payment. You also seem to have paid the soli for 2024 too late, for which you have to pay another fee of 1,50 €
All in all 750,50 €
The fee for late payment will increase if you do not pay on or before the 10th of February (the day the money is credited to the finanzamt is important, so bank processing delay does count against you)
I also got this letter last year in 2024 to make prepayments for 2025. But I already filed the taxes for 2025 before the end date of the pre-payments. I went to tax office and they cancelled it. So I would recommend few things
1. Either file the taxes before due date of this prepayment and then go to office to let them know or
2. Try going to office and asking for an extension and then file the taxes before that Or
3. As others pointed pre-pay this amount and claim it back in Elster.
Is this document real? There are scammers. I would check the IBAN if its German or foreign and call the local Finanzamt and ask them to validate this letter.
