Ehi, qualcuno può aiutarmi a capire se esiste una procedura per prendere in consegna legalmente un vecchio scooter abbandonato? Ce ne sono alcuni intorno a me che sembrano voler realizzare un divertente progetto di restauro, ma non riesco a capire se esiste un modo per farlo legalmente se non c’è nessun precedente proprietario a farlo "acquistare" o comunque prendere in consegna lo scooter. Ad esempio eccone uno che sembra essere stato tirato fuori da un capannone e lasciato sul marciapiede per essere portato via. Ha più adesivi di avviso di rimozione dalla città. Presumo che non posso semplicemente prenderlo perché ho bisogno di una qualche forma di titolo per registrarlo, giusto?

You need to talk to the city. Usually they try to sell it when they removed it
Ofcourse you can’t just take it. Talk to the city for removal, if they take possession of it they may sell it to you

Mostly, you can’t “just take it” because that would be theft.
Until the public authority seizes and possibly sells it, it belongs to the owner. After they seize it, it belongs to the public authority and then whoever buys it. Unlike the public authority, you as a private person don’t have any authority to seize someone’s property.
Technically, even Sperrmüll which is put outside by people who want to get rid of it has a continuous chain of ownership. But there it’s usually tolerated for people to take things home because it’s actually intended to be waste.
Well that’s theft.
