That you gonna pay for (part) of the floor. It will probably not bankrupt you, it not looks that expensive tbh.

You’ll be held liable and will have to replace the floor. If you’re lucky, your Vermieter might be able to tell you what Laminat (?) it is and where he bought it, so you could spot-fix it. If you’re even luckier the floor is very old and he has to replace it anyway.

How did that happen though? I’ve never seen something like it

Your best option is to go to obi or similar place and get it replaced yourself. Maximum damage in that case is 100EUR. If not, add one more 0

Place a chair over it and ask for the Caution money. 😂 After that run and don’t look back.

You have to Pay for the few floorboards. Guess round about 100-200€

Write Twilight new moon in the middle and call it decoration, on a serious note it’s just coming out of your Kaution, nothing to be done about it

  7. You could ask your landlord if there are some spare flooring tiles. Then you only have to replace three pieces judging by your pic. What happened, seems like burn damage? Otherwise the cost will be charged if you leave the apartment. Maybe your landlord can also tell you the company who did the flooring, then you can arrange repairs with them directly.

report it and lose your Kaution or do it like a german and make sure you put a carpet or some furniture over it and hope and no one sees it

Serious question: what happened here? Did you eat on the floor?

  10. for the next time:

fire retardant rubber carpets are pretty cheap and a must to not stain wooden floors on kitchens.

Hmm., I had done the same mistake when I moved to Germany in 2018. Put a hot bowl & the laminated layer on kitchen table gave a pop sound & I realized I f**ked up something.
Back then, I had to pay 650 euros to landlord (I had liability insurance but it was not from Germany, I was a jobseeker, to claim I had to flyback to my origin country & apply). Costly learning back then but that taught me that I should be more careful.
