No. You got 8 Vacation days left to take until 31.03.’26, if you don’t take them, you’ll lose them as they say.

I guess ask your boss/manager?

It says that you still have 8,5 days of vacation days from last year that you need to take before 31.03.

It says you have 8,5 days of vacation left from last year, take some time off before 31.03.2026 or the vacation days from last year expire unused.

It looks like your boss just copied the wrong subject onto the letter. In any case this is not a valid Kündigung, so you did not get fired

I guess you don’t speak german? Ask your company if they could send you these letters in a different language next time so this issue won’t occur again.
You still have 8,5 holiday days left and you’re supposed to use them up by the 31 of March.
Edit: Ah, your confusion comes from the Subject “Kündigung”. I didn’t see that part. Guess I have to read better next time. lol. Who knows? Maybe the subject is correct and they just messed up the text part. Either way, I would recommend calling them just to be sure. Also, you should have really hidden the telephone number because now ANYONE can call your company. xD

No, you didnt take enough holidays 🇩🇪🇩🇪🇩🇪
They recommend taking them by the deadline otherwise they void.

Oh, that’s **embarrassing** for HR! I don’t think you got fired, some dolt forgot to change the subject line.
It is around the time when HR sends out reminders for Resturlaub.
EDIT: In case “Resturlaub” puzzles you on top of that subject line blunder, you have a set amount of vacation days per year. They roll over into the following year, but you need to use them up before the 31st of March, otherwise they are void.
This letter is meant to remind you of those leftover vacation days from 2025.
Ju7ix on
Only the subject line is wrong. It’s a reference to remaining vacation days, that you have to take by March 31st.

No, You worked too much last year and still have vacation days left, which you should take soon or they will expire.Your employer is obliged to inform you of this.
I think there were problems with the mail merge…
The simplest thing would be to politely ask HR.

They got the wrong headline i think because the 8.5 days are specific but if the Person working there is just a moron copy pasting even that is possible

No, it’s about your remaining vacation leave from 2025. You still have 8.5 remaining vacation days from 2025, which you can take until 31.03.. Any remaining vacation days will expire after 31.03.

PTO has to be taken before Dezember 31st.
if you can’t do that for what ever reasons, you have to use them before March 31st or they will expire.

Not at all, they are saying you have 8.5 days of paid holiday from 2025 still to take until the end of March 2026, otherwise you won’t get these days back. They are looking out for you. So it’s good, book a week and a half off until the end of March and enjoy yourself! 🙂

In Germany (and most parts of Europe) it’s custom to actually take your vacation days.
You lose them after the year (or in your case, after march of the next year), your employer reminds you of that.

I recommend a few courses of German. They take place for pretty cheap costs in most bigger towns and all cities.

Are you really losing your vacation days already in March in the following year in Germany? That seems a bit inflexible. Maybe he’s fired with 31th of March 2026 and need to consume his left-over vacation days?

Nope. Take your remaining 8.5 holiday days from last year by 31.3. or else you lose them.
