Uccle would probably be one of the few communes that would be welcomed by Flanders.

In my opinion, this is one of the major reasons why francophone politicians in the language facility municpalities around Brussels (S.G.Rode, Kraainem, Drogenbos, etc.) have gone really quiet the last decade with respect to their desire for their municipalities to be annexed by Brussels.
These are almost all leafy suburbs inhabited by relatively well-to-do people who, at the end of the day, will pick the current situation with Flanders’ lower taxes and more business-friendly environment over upending the status quo and tying their fate to Brussels’ budgetary chaos.
