    It should be done even though he’s incredibly unlikely to ever be in king.

    This seems performative, though I understand it. He’s far enough down the line of succession that a King Ralph event would be needed for him to ascend to the throne.

    As a republican, I couldn’t care less if he retains his title or remains in the line of succession.

    To remove Andrew from the line of succession would be to admit that the whole notion of royalty is a busted flush.

    The entire point of royalty is that the line of succession is sacrosanct – otherwise, if we start saying who should, or should not be king (or queen), then we are electing a king or queen.

    Might as well go the whole hog and have an elected (or nominated) President.

    FWIW, I would rather we got rid of the whole lot of them and had someone who earned the highest position in the land on merit rather than an accident of birth
