The Customs department needs to confiscate them before they get to the shops.

No! Let them enforce the rules of the road that are already in place

Right?? I have same opinions. But the government wants that tax mate

It’s not illegal to sell them… it would be absolutely impossible to target suppliers under current laws!

On what grounds. It’s not illegal to sell scooters

Customs need to really clampdown and confiscate these coming into the country from suppliers before they reach the shops, outlets, sellers, buyers etc

Doing anything at all would help. Half the problems we have are from laws not being enforced.

I was talking to one of the lads from the scooter shops before. The suppliers are providing different stock than the sticker my suggest.

All the stickers will say the power rating, in compliance with the law, but what the battery outputs, or can output with a modification can be substantially higher.

I feel like there’s a used Micra out there for that much and you won’t get rained on.

Why not ban cars that can go faster then 120 KPH,always wondered why cars cant be restricted,I remember years mopeds had limiters on them of something like 50KPH

  11. Guards should be let do their jobs and confiscate them regardless of whether some scumbag gets injured in the process

This morning I drove through a green light to be confronted on my drivers side by a kid on one of these who just sailed out into the junction through his own red light.

Luckily I was not travelling at any speed (I’d been sitting at red and had just taken off).

Scooter boy attempted to swerve (I’d come to a stop when I saw him) and almost went on his arse in front of and to the left of me.

The clown then righted himself and went off ahead of me, down the wrong side of the road.

Busy enough traffic and lots of people out walking about. No fucks given by scooter boy to his own or anyone else’s personal safety.

And ban a form of transport for other people who can’t rely on buses, pay for taxis or afford the rip off car insurance prices? How about the guards do their jobs and prevent those riding carelessly? You’ll just have people who abide by the law off the road, scumbags riding around and nothing will change. They’ll get them somehow. 🙄
