God the mail is such a useless rag.
This headline makes it sound like because she didnt get an immediate ambulance she passed away and was jsut left there for days as a body on the floor.
in reality she was assessed by a GP who clocked that she had signs of an injured hip, told shed have to wait for an ambulance for reasons we can only speculate, had a fall in the meantime and was found 5 days later, still alive, but sadly passed away later that same day.
its a sad situation and 10 days does seem excessive for an ambulance, especially if she has no one else who could have transported her, but there’s not enough information and at the same time ambulances aren’t taxis and assuming as much makes the system worse for the people who need them, which may or may not include the subject of this story
At what point was she told that she had a 10 day wait for an ambulance? Was this called by in by the paramedic?
Doesn’t actually state when the ambulance was called along the timeline, sounds more like a non emergency ambulance was called and they were booked up rather than actually calling 999?
This article is just ragebait for people who think the NHS is so stretched you’ll actually have to wait 10 days after calling 999
