Google Maps is live and the road is closed for winter. If you change departure time to summer it will give the route you want.
Usually they are now closed because of snow and should open up closer to summer. However, last time I visited Norway I noticed you still need to pay attention to closures since detours can sometimes mean a lot of extra travel time. We had a tunnel close which meant an extra four hours of driving.
That road is closed during winter but will open 1st June. If you plan to travel in August then it will be open 🙂

Hopefully links to correct road, currently set to open 1st June, however is snow dependant on the mountain roads, so this date isn’t absolute
It will open in summer. Depending on snow, but early June most likely. It will close before winter. Maybe mid October, depending on snow.
It can however close at short notice if the weather is bad. I’ve had snow and zero degrees there in late June and a friend of mine met a closed road in September some years ago.
Barring road works, this one should be kept open.
In the web version of google maps you can set your arrival date, thus ignoring the winter closure of roads. Helped me with planning my trip.
It’s a popular drive, so well maintained but narrow in places. Take your time, stop (only) in the car parks, enjoy the little waterfalls, stand on some old snow.
Segastein is often crowded & full of cruise tourists, so aim to enjoy the drive there, not rush to the crowds.
