I still dont believe that the farmers get that much more… If anyone can link an article or study about the compensation the farmers get now i would appreciate. I think the k and s mafia are just banking most of the money…

I view the pea protein mix as a good thing. I’d prefer to limit my meat intake and that’s one way.

It’s probably both price and introducing healthier options. For example I like the pea thing better in most foods, less nasty bits.

  4. Currently salmon and minced beef are basically the same price. Lol

The farmers aren’t doing it. The Farmers arent benefitting. It is Atria, Saarioinen, Snellman and the retail chains that hike up the prices and cut margins.

The actual people who do the actual products, they are not the reason, they are the common consumer and workers like the rest of us. The price of feeding a cow has not increased with same scale as the price on the store shelf.

Farmers here get the lowest amount of money for beef in EU. Itis not farming why its expensive.

I haven’t tried those, but they (especially the beef-chicken) feel like strange, unnatural hybrid products. Why not e.g. replace half of your beef with beans? Vegetarians of course won’t be touching those, and meat eaters will probably be disappointed when cooking with those.

This doesn’t have anything to do with the farmers (who don’t make these products) and also isn’t about “cutting the product” with cheaper ingredients. It’s about folks wanting healthier and more eco-friendly options. The 100% meat products are still there as before.

Why is it bad omen to introduce more products? Especially if they’re healthier and/or more eco friendly?

It’s not farmers who mix the pea in it lol 😆

Nauta-herne, which is more expensive than beef… /facepalm

If I want vegetarian, I’ll buy vegetarian. If I want beef, I’ll buy beef.

Good thing I have two freezers full of “ethical”, freely lived meat that has been killed nearly instantly.

I would actually love to buy beef mince mixed with pea protein. Haven’t seen that in stores yet. Beef and chicken sounds awful though.

This is honestly pretty great. Still waiting for porkchiken mince, the less beef the better.

What recipe calling for a beef/chicken mix even exists??

What’s the issue here, exactly? There are plenty of pea and broad bean farmers in Finland too, the more applications to their produce are created and brought to into the market, the better.

Wouldn’t it be better to mix beef with soy protein instead of pea protein, taste wise?

Maybe, but have you considered this is also better for the environment?
