yeah you heard wrong. If for example China is short on oil, the oil companies there will outbid Irish companies for North Sea oil. The price of oil is going up in every country, plenty of Americans on reddit already complaining about “gas prices”.

I called yesterday to order kerosene, blissfully unaware of the price hikes, and the guy in the depot literally said “if you have any fuel to tide you over and can hold on a while, I really wouldn’t buy it now if I were you”. Never had someone selling oil advise me not to buy oil before.
