Apparently if you’ve enough money you can just try to alter reality to the one you like.

All he is doing is dragging her name through the mud.

It would have been long forgotten about if he just accepted the verdict.

Normally I’d throw in a cocaine pun or two for a post like this, but you have to draw the line somewhere..

I don’t get it. She had cocaine in her blood and urine, but he’s arguing she, a healthy woman in her 40s, died in her sleep of natural causes? Is that right?

She was who she was. Even now they arent able to accept her with her challenges as well as what she could do for them as a brand to maintain. She’s just like any of us. And so are all of both families. No difference.

And it was a terrible thing for her 3 young kids to lose their mum and I’m sure for everyone around her. And there are many other good things to say about her still without bringing it all back to the way she left the world. It’s only a minor detail. They should just orient themselves to the minor detail that she died because of drugs, instead of trying to turn the world around to their version of reality by misusing their money. But they probably think they are “doing it for the kids”.

The kids have already lost their mum to drugs and the toll of awful mental illness. It wasn’t her fault. She wasnt weak. She was a victim of pressures.more powerful than she was. And it could happen to anyone. They should be raised to not let the pressure of keeping up appearances be anywhere near their priorities. Let their mum be who she was and remember her well for who she was.

I never knew who she was or how she died but now I know she died of cocaine. The Streisand effect at work here.

  7. I’ve done the odd line of cocaine. I might do one/two lines 3 times a year. But this is my biggest fear – I’ll get hit by a bus on the way to work and some coroner will declare to the world “the bus killed him but, by the way, he was a coke head”.

the integrity of this coroner in barbados. you might suspect before any of this came out, he was offered a few pound to keep quiet and lean away from cocaine related. maybe he wasn’t but whaever, he stuck to his guns is being dragged into appeal after appeal because of it

  9. Depending on how old the kids are (presumably not too old), they may be unaware of the cause of death. He wants to protect them from that.

I do t think he should be able to just because he has money but there should be a way of preserving the memory of someone without tarnish.

In black and white terms, they’re dead, don’t exist anymore. Unless it’s something congenital which may affect children, and they need to be aware of it, I don’t see any reason to state that her cause of death was cocaine related. Other than statistical which doesn’t need to be on the death certificate. That can quite easily be in a private database linked by the certificate and PPS number

In Barbados December 2020, weren’t we all meant to be locked up then?

  11. So…she had so much cocaine in her system that her heart gave way.

    Reminds me of Gerry Ryan.

The streisand effect in action. This is the first I heard of it.

Your local coke dealer applauds those heroic efforts.

Stop criminalising people for drug use. Take away the power of drug gangs &  regulate the supply. Properly educate people on the harms

Get over it, she died from drugs, simple as. This denial is just because he thinks she’s above or worth more than anyone else who ever died from drugs. It’s all about the show, the image.

“your wife, tragically, died a cocaine related death”

“no Sir, I don’t like it”

“the facts are the facts, Mr McManus”

    “But I have money…”
