Whilst this is routine for the Royal Navy, I thought it would be useful to share this as a reminder that the Royal Navy isn’t just focused on Iran, and also that the threat from Russia still remains.

We have a navy?
Didn’t seem like that after looking at what ships are currently active.

We have a navy, but it is extremely stretched at the moment. Fewer hulls mean less downtime for crew, more wear and tear on our ships. Most of our frigates are well past their prime and should have been sold off years ago or scrapped. Our destroyers are mostly in dock and are only 6 in number down from 12 originally ordered.
Before anyone replies, I know replacements for our frigates are on the way, but their construction have been beset with delays. Also, one of the first off the line will be handed over to Norway. That isn’t so terrible as these Anti Submarine frigates will mostly be covering the same area in the high north, but when our current type 23s frigates are so old, it is less than ideal.
Edit:
Also, it seems like we only have an OPV tracking the Russian warship. There was a time not long ago, this would have been a frigate or a destroyer, or a boat( submarine). Ah, but our only attack submarine is in Australia.
