Scum bag – edit not not removing the bullshit carbon tax

If there’s a cut, there has to be some level of insistance that they actually get it fully passed on, rather than the petrol stations just pocketing even more.

This is the correct way. Reduce the excise, but don’t budge on the carbon tax. People have to pay for their emissions regardless if there’s a war or not.

So cut the excise then? It’s not that complicated.

I know this will piss people off, but i think they should leave the petrol and diesel alone and just do cost of living supports for those on fuel allowance and offer energy credits for those who are under some type of means test limit possibly 40/50k

The reason they won’t touch the carbon tax is because that will help go toward all the fines we are going to be hit with by the EU for emissions. We’re talking billions.

Im not an expert on this but I assume they still have EU policies to follow on tax and emissions fees or whatever.

All I want to know is if its gonna cost me €100 a week on Fuel to get to my meh salary job

We’re in this mess because of our reliance on oil so I’d be in favour of the carbon tax IF it’s used to speed up our shift to renewables and EVs.. short term there needs to be some relief for people on the cost of fuels though
