I cannot abide Martin, but gotta be honest this is a canny judgement. Politicians getting into mud fights with rock or rap artists has always been an exercise in folly for the authority figure, and saying nothing the obvious mature choice.

He would literally blame SF for there not being enough fig in a fig roll and the one time that people would actually be happy about him putting his support behind something we get this fucking clown show where he’s making out like Kneecap are the problem when, Kneecap are pretty much just parroting alot of the positions that Michael Martin uses in the Dáil to avoid critique around Israel, Palestine and the OTB.
You can really tell who Michael Martin represents when he says things like this because he represents the richest area’s in Cork or just in ireland in general. Wouldn’t really represent the interests of the wealthy to have a moral backbone.

He really is a loathsome creep …Irelands Starmer , no identity except a desire for power and craven supplication to wealth and influence

He’s correct. They want a soundbite. Don’t give it to them.
Leave them at it. Their weird cult followers will of course hate him but who cares

It’s a very British tabloid thing to ask the prime minister for their take on a current pop culture story. It’s pure right wing tabloid fodder. Glad Martin isn’t giving them what they want.

It’s a better response than Starmer in fairness
