Poorly worded as your dog only needs to causes distress. they dont need to attack at all.

Even running along a fence is now an offence.

I dont think people quite realise the damage a dog can do. Once they get a taste for it too they will never stop. One of our neighbours lost 10 ewes and their lambs when 2 dogs returned after trying once

I really wish there was a way to find rural walks without livestock.

I’ve looked in the past and have never been able to find such a resource.

    Runner here.

Attacked by dogs three times in the past twelve months. Two of them while running in the street.

How about we have stronger deterrents for not controlling your dog around people too?

good, dog owners need to be held liable for the actions of their dogs!

Good, now make the fines for fouling extremely expensive and up the enforcement, I’m fed up of scraping dog shit off my shoes because some lazy cunt left one in the path in the dark

Why unlimited fines and not simply just pay to replace the sheep, at market value, then farmer  loses nothing of value?

When do we start making farmers pay for the damage they do to our waterways?

We, the taxpayers, already pay a lot , subsidising every one of their sheep.

Not an irresponsible dog owner lol just annoyed at the special privileges we give to farmers along with our subsidies we pay for

Yet again, “something must be done” and the only easy lever government has is new laws.

The existing laws already make livestock worrying an offence and already make dog owners fully liable for damage their dog causes. But farmers are having real problems because there are hardly any rural police left and because the courts are backlogged due to decades of austerity.

Instead of resourcing the police and courts properly, it’s much cheaper and easier to just have a new law and get some positive headlines! So frustrating.

  9. Good, I’m a responsible dog owner and boils my piss people who allow uncontrolled dogs off lead. Mine has very good recall but I still always walk him on lead.

Also fairly certain the amount of poo around where I live is mostly from those walking dogs off lead as I regularly see them being 20m or more away from their dog and not having a clue what they’re doing.

Seems perfectly fair that someone should be fined for their dog causing damage to someone else’s property.

Good idea. Control your fucking animal. You have a lead for a reason.
