Giorno di San Patrizio: il governo ha autorizzato l’atterraggio a Shannon di un aereo militare statunitense, utilizzato per consegnare munizioni a Israele
> This St Patrick’s Day government authorised a US military cargo plane to land at Shannon Airport on its way back from delivering munitions to Israel.
>
> …the plane – used for delivering munitions of war – diverted to Shannon and remained at the Irish airport for four hours before leaving Ireland for the US at midday.
>
> A Shanghai-based geospatial intelligence firm last month revealed the extent of US military cargo deliveries to the IDF’s Ovda Airbase – illustrating the importance of these flights to the Israeli military.

The same government that won’t pass the OTB, just called Winston Churchill a war hero and previously invited the Israeli ambassador to their Ard Fheis.
I’m shocked /S

An empty plane on the way to the USA.
Hardly remotely close to what the headline insinuates.
Another example of the extreme biased and misleading stories from this outlet are.
Edit: regardless of if you like or hate the government you cannot deny the ditch is EXTREMELY biased in its reporting to the extent its almost misinformation.

They’ve been using Shannon for years.
Transporting innocent men to Guantanamo to be tortured without trial for years.
“Moscow mick” was often protesting it back in the day, but he didn’t pay some tax a few years ago so his opinions can no longer be trusted!

Do we actively “authorise” landings on empty military planes?
Did the government “authorise” the landing of Ryanair FR1322 from London?

Shannon is a huge oversight liability for the government. It is being used for the war in Iran and was visited a lot by US military registered flights just before the invasion and whatever since.
Also Shannon has seen airlines known to circumnavigate sanctions, like those placed on russia, use the airport recently too. Using old russian made aircraft and going to Baku, a russian ally. They were not normal cargo flights but some temporary contract flights.
There is one aircraft (N351CM) that has been going between Shannon and Wilmington (ILM), North Carolina for months
Sketchy things happen in that airport. As much as I love that airport, it’s got to stop
