This makes me feel really bad for Barry. He is such a good actor – remember seing him in Mammal years ago and knowing he would go far. Horrible to think people’s nasty comments have given him anxiety to the extent that he sometimes doesn’t want to go out.

There is also a wider issue about people still thinking it’s okay to make mean comments about men’s looks – because the assumption is that men don’t mind as much as women, or that it’s all a bit of banter. That absolutely is not the case.

Yeah that’s pretty appalling, if your whole job is being on screen and getting into a character it must be difficult if you’re consumed with anxiety about how you’ll look onscreen.

Chronically online people are honestly the fucking worst. Imagine being such a pathetic cunt you’d go to the effort of typing something unbelievably personal and nasty solely to hurt someone when it takes far less effort to just say nothing at all.

The online world is just depressingly toxic and negative. People let their most vindictive sides out while typing online where there are no real consequences.

Speaking as a gay fella, he has always looked handsome as hell to me. Unfortunately, people love to project their own insecurities in a very parasocial fashion.
