A good first step to break free of Microsoft’s stranglehold with Office. Considering they have Softmaker Office and the LibreOffice foundation (TDF) is also based there, this is great news.

That headline is misleading, ODF will be mandatory only within the software stack for public administration. Personal or other business documents can still be any format you want.
