Then the judge says never mind let’s give you a suspended sentence and a pat on the back who cares if he has 113 other previous convictions (that he’s been convicted for)…. Was he mortified that he did those things too? Sheesh

Flags go up, flags go down. I didn’t grow up in the UK, but where I did, schools had national flags, and I was on flag duty. Every morning, we’d hoist it at the start of the school day and lower it when classes ended. If some unhinged, drunk “patriot” had come after us for lowering the flag, I’d have wanted them locked up!!! No question.

They are only mortified because of the mistaken identity, they would have clearly gladly attacked someone actually taking down a flag and should be treated as the violent danger to the public they are by receiving a custodial sentence
