  1. Probably as straightforward as the case may be, it would still drag on for years and one of 2 things would happen: either during this time the prosecution will botch the case (eg. issue with how evidence is preserved, change in prosecutors who are handling the case which can lead to mistakes etc) or he’ll end up with a fine and/or suspended sentence.

On a related note, you used the phrase “with evidence like this” when referring to the video to indicate that it is irrefutable evidence (which it is). I wouldn’t be surprised if in the coming years video evidence becomes less irrefutable considering how realistic AI videos are becoming, and defense attorneys will go out of their way to question a video’s authenticity (which can be hard to prove in certain cases or easy to botch up due to technicalities such as not preserving the original file’s metadata).

Rather, from a legal standpoint, with evidence like this if he decides to plead not guilty, whats next? Yes i know this is Malta, and law is a suggestion to a “person” like this. – in a case like this it would be stupid to claim not guilty, as it will go to trial and proven, and maximum sentence give – unless they are from a certain family and can prolong court case till he dies of natural causes without spending a day in prison
