The amount of Swiss households that own their own home (around 40%) has not really changed much in decades, so I’m not sure what the point is here.

50 years ago barbers and waitresses didn’t travel, didn’t go everywhere by car, didn’t buy new clothes every 3 months, didn’t spend on electronic devices, didn’t eat in restaurants weekly, etc.
This is our choice to finance these services, they will take money from our pocket and workers from the industry of home building.Â
That also doesn’t help that people say “cannot buy a house” but mean “cannot buy a house in a hot spot city”.
