Successive governments have damaged the economy long before this war. It’s a convenient excuse for them now.

Outsourcing everything and transitioning to a service-based economy has been nothing short of a disaster for Britain.
It only works on the assumption that there are never any global economic shocks ever again.

Why doesn’t the rest of the world gang up on usa to stop the war? Trump is causing worldwide economic chaos. Why aren’t governments attacking him ?

And this is the point i’d want to personally at least try and stop buying American/Israel stuff at the shops.

So frustrating when mortgage rates were on track to get back to a good rate this year.

Time to burn our own oil and gas
Labour is going to lose next election if they don’t do that.
We’re still importing our fuel from abroad, when our back yard is still half full of it.

Somehow we have this unique position of getting hardest hit from any crisis among G7. Our super competent leaders do nothing to prepare the country to absorbs the shocks better as others do.

How does this make sense when most of the oil coming out of the Hormuz strait heads for Asia/Oceania? I get that any disruption in the oil supply will raise prices across the globe wherever each country gets most of their oil from, but shouldn’t countries like China/India/Australia be even more impacted than we are by this particular blockage?

It amazes me that so many people seem to think the illegal* closure of the Hormuz strait isn’t anything to do with us…. I filled up my car the day before yesterday, and got a shock, and they’re even talking about potential fuel shortages…..It IS to do with us whether we like it or not.
* the south side of the strait is not even in Iranian territorial waters.
