avvistato a Oerlikon.

Safety and children/strollers?
Let’s be honest, we all know why
Since the 1990s, studies have shown that many women feel unsafe in public spaces because they fear sexual assault and violence. This restricts their freedom of movement: for fear of being threatened or harassed, many women avoid certain areas, particularly in the evening and at night. Urban planning changes to so-called ‘fear zones’, such as parks, underpasses, motorway and airport car parks, multi-storey car parks and underground car parks, have led, among other things, to the introduction of women-only parking spaces. These are usually located closer to escape routes and exits, are better lit or situated within the range of CCTV cameras, and are intended to increase women’s sense of safety and promote their mobility. Women-only parking spaces are now standard in many cities
One can find an issue with everything if one just tries hard enough…
Those spots are wider and closer to the exits, because they are meant for families with strollers. Historically, before the individual taxation, women had the freedom in Switzerland to decide whether to continue working or to be stay-at-home moms for however long they liked. Traditionally, many women freely decided to spend more time with their family and kids over working a soulless employed job, so the sign still exists.
As busses. Safe places for women with less chance of being molested
These places were perfect for my wife when she had to go shopping with the toddlers. Not everything is a woke agenda.
There is a local car park near me that has these as some of the closest spaces to the store so women don’t have to go through the whole car park alone (and often in the dark if it’s winter). They’re useful for safety – and for strollers if you have kids.
These parking spots are usually closer to exits/entrances, to reduce long walks in isolated parking garages for safety reasons. The extra space is to help with getting small children and child seats in/out of cars
It would be discriminatory if women were mandated to park here. As far as I know, it is not the case.
I mean it’s not illegal to park on them as a man. Just honorless…
Fuck these signs. Today I feel female. Just park on it if you feel vulnerable.
It’s sexist to think that only women are afraid or only women can be victims of violence.
Crazy to think that in 2026 we still have these signs. Just think of it as a parking for vulnerable people.
Its parkspaces designed for safety when you’re alone as a female. They’re well lighted, at the entrence of the store and allways recorded by a security camera. They also have that much space so it gets way harder to hide between/behind a car.
While it has sexist “implications”, it’s actually a well meant safety measurement for single women.
I’m waiting for the men only parking spaces ^^
Youre being weird. Just move on.
That you can’t tell says more about you than about the validity of those parking spaces.
I can give you two reasons for starters: first, women might need wider spaces because they get pregnant, so can’t get out of the car in tight areas, especially when they have to carry stuff at the same time.
Second, those spaces are normaly closer to building entrances or in areas that are heavily covered by CCTV, so losers have it harder to attack them.
There’s more and if you can use google you might be able to find out, but honestly, I’m guessing you’re just some guy who is bitter and you don’t really care besides having a reason to attack women.
Sincerly, a guy who is fed up with your whining (“you” as in people that
try to blame others for their own shortcomings), you’re not being treated unfairly, you just need to get yourself together.
so technically i‘m allowed to park there right?
Regensdorf?
Incredibly, from their comment history, OP already has a hypothesis!
