There’s a word for people who are thick enough to do shit like this, but I don’t think I could type it without getting banned.

I’m still baffled trying to wrap my head around the logic of making everyone on the road including yourself burn *significantly more* fuel than necessary to protest rising fuel costs.

  2. Great job everyone you’ve taken out public transport, so it’s the people with no cars who are stuck. Dickheads.

i remember pro palestine protestors blocking the entrance to the port being removed soon after they sat down, am i right in thinking the farmers gave no indication theyd stay in dublin?

There are words for a government that sit idly by and let it happen. That’s not a “peaceful protest” that is people causing others loss of earnings, thats illegal parking and a while bunch of other laws that the legal begles can work out.

Protest outside the Dail, write to your TD and avail of all the other measures that living in a democracy affords you. Don’t block your fellow citizens from going about their business.

It’s very telling about who in this country is allowed to protest by blocking roads and transport for so long, because if it was a vaguely left wing protest the Guards would be out swinging batons hours ago.

Public transport in Dublin is shite enough without this happening as well, all it does is piss off commuters who won’t even look at what it’s about, just how it’s affected them

Oh yeah, let’s break logistics when the country already starts to experience the crisis. Good job, guys. /s

Has a traffic protest ever once successfully won the support of the public?

Go set up some tractors and spend a fucking week blocking the roads into the Dail, actually hurt the people you’re upset with.

But blocking the luas home for some poor bastard finishing his shift? That’ll win support.

And to top it all, a protest over costs that are not determined by our government is just fucking ridiculous. Target the carbon tax all they want, if the gov actually got rid of it, they’d be back on the streets again when they reintroduced it because it’s hiking the cost of fuel.

    Ridiculous fucking carry on.

At what point is this just an attack against urban people?

Luas and bus users don’t consume diesel directly, and all trams and about a third of the main city bus fleet is now 100% electric.

We didn’t cause the war. It’s infuriating. Go to the US, Israeli and Iranian embassies.

Ah here 10 O’clock at night and people trying to get home. They’ve already made their point today. That’s a seriously cunty thing to do on your fellow citizen, it’s not protest.

Almost all of these are commercial vehicles, so one very easy way to disperse this protest is to send down a multi agency group to start carrying out inspections on the vehicles.

    Gardai, revenue, RSA etc.

Well lets just hope no one gets seriously injured in Dublin tonight because I have doubts on whether or not emergency services will be able to reach anywhere in the city tonight thanks to these gobshites.

Where are all the little scrotes when you need them?

Just got home from this. Strangely some of us on the quays were told buses were cancelled, but then as I walked further down towards Stoneybatter, I saw some running.

  15. Remind me again how this is sending a message to the government? Rather than just trying to bully fellow citizens

  16. hesaidshesdead on

Go block the entrances and exits to Doonbeg lads, stage a round the clock protest there making it impossible to get into the place, I’d support you 100%, what you’re doing is just going to piss everyone off and get you no support.

  17. Ah yeah lads piss off the commuters and general public, that’ll really help your case!

  18. gash_florden on

Can they not seize any abandoned vehicles?

This protest is designed just to anger people, designed that way that just want people to be as miserable as possible because they are easier to manipulate that way.

If only people could care as much about an issue that was an actual crisis in this country of which there are many to choose from. Greedy self centeredness. I have no support for this

This is literally just farmers thinking they’re being smart disrupting the Dubliners lives.

  21. slevinonion on

We should help by blocking roads aswell. Let’s start at mart entrances.

  22. Brilliant-Ship2539 on

Ah yes, this will make micheal martin finally stumble out from his big house on o’connell street in his nightgown and candle and scrooge sleeping cap, magicking away all the taxes

  23. drumnadrough on

Fucking joke, most if not all the farmers and haulage claim vat back on fuel.

  24. Different_Gas_4184 on

Saw a very funny video of a farmer on O’Connell street saying that they’re not looking for a handout before immediately asking for a handout
