It’s all kicked off in Whitegate; it’s a shame that it resulted in this but they crossed a line

Finally the guards start taking measures they would have deployed in about 0.5 seconds against any other disruptive protest

This is going to only escalate and embolden the unemployed scum come Monday. They are just foaming at the mouth to attack the government

Will be lots of truckers in East Cork with no licences and with criminal records now. Hope they have good savings.

They have had every chance to stop blocking critical infrastructure. Holding the rest of hostage, and not a coherent thought amongst them.

You get spicy eyes.. You get spicy eyes…. There’s spicy eyes for everyone !!!

  6. Feel sorry for the children in rural Ireland who won’t be getting some busses to school next week because the cost is so high to operate them. Here’s to more of an increase in inflation and basic goods I guess!

EDIT: all the downvotes lmfao at least we know who won’t be affected by that.

About time.  Half the country is without fuel and emergency services are being curtailed.  It’s beyond time that the blockades are lifted

This protest has changed the course drastically over the last two days, with one of the ring leaders owing the Revenue €550k, and animal rights abuse, and the other one made comments about Greta Thunberg and Muslims. Sounds like lovely bunch of men.

When did these entitled people with no jobs, get a degree or know how the world/economy works in which they can have a say in what is allowed to pass through their blockades.

  9. When the security of the state is threatened, unfortunately needs must.

I’ve never seen a community so unrepresentative of the majority of people. Calling to burn their vehicles? Come the fuck on

Reddit is definitely different gravey, seems to be the only place I’ve seen absolutely against this protest, why is that?

  12. I’m astounded of how little support the protesters are getting on here. They very much represent the majority of people I have spoken with and are being lauded by the general public in their actions.
A heavy handed response by Gardai will only serve to escalate the situation and increase the support base.
This government is teetering on the brink and they don’t even know it.

These ghouls have somehow managed to both overplay their card and never actually have a card in the first place. They had every chance.

Why are the Gards wearing masks.

Also I hope they impound their vehicles and these gobshites have to pay a huge fee to get them back.

Time to treat them the same way they would a few dozen carers blocking a building in dublin 😀

It will unfortunately create martyrs, but they crossed a line. Holding the country hostage until demands are met goes way beyond protesting. I’ve much more sympathy for cancer patients missing their chemo appointments than for this shower.

  17. Several Tactical blunders on the protesters side imo. Not quick enough to put any(if available) reputable “leader” in front of the microphones and cameras.

The threat of the guards and the army rattled them. They(the protestors) didn’t adapt. + infiltration by known Shitebags(pepper et al)

The scene with the 4 lads outside that office was the breaking point imo. Government gave them the run around with that one.

Paul Murphy literally Walked into the protest at a time when the protestors could have used an ally. They ran him.

For posterity I’m defining a rule when it comes to protesting: *if your movement is initially “legitimate” stay on course*

A corollary to the above rule
*get a legitimate face to your movement if you want to be taken seriously*

    Corollary #2
*when threatened, do not bite on the opposition bluff*

Just had a quick, look at the journal and comments.. Most are against this protest… When you’ve lost the journal commenters during a riot or a protest you’re defiantly doing something wrong
